On Thursday 10th December over 160 road patrol students from across South Taranaki converged on Hawera to be acknowledged for all their hard work keeping their school mates safe while walking to and from school. The road patrol students are out on the side of some very busy roads controlling traffic and pedestrians in all sorts of weather throughout every school year. Thanks to Silver Fern Farms and Yarrows (The Bakers) the students had a very enjoyable BBQ lunch at the Hawera Aquatic Centre with Deputy Mayor Rob Northcott, School Community Officer Jono Erwood and Roadsafe Taranaki Coordinator Marion Webby dishing out the food.
